POWER TRANSISTORS

The picture above shows a variety of 'Baby-blue'  TO-3 PNP Germanium Power Transistors that Tung-Sol had available.

ABOVE, L-to-R:   The first item is one of the 'in-house' numbered "TS-613" devices from 1957. The next two items, both "2N242" (from Sylvania) devices are from 1958 and shows Tung-Sol's tendency to copy other RETMA members 'released' transistor designs, as allowed, to supplement their own product line.  The next device, also from Sylvania, is a "2N307".  Up until 1957, Tung-Sol had not registered any of their own semiconductor designs with RETMA.  They had either used their own developed designs or reproduced other RETMA designs supplied by other manufacturers.  In mid-1957 they finally registered their "TS612, TS613 and TS614" TO-3 designs as the "2N378, 2N379 and 2N380" devices, all rated at 15 watts  dissipation.  A little later in  1957 they released another RETMA design, the "2N459", as seen on the

far right above.
