Another innovative construction technique which Tung-Sol advertised heavily was the "Cold-Weld" method of assembling the top and bottom halves of the transistor copper housing. While originally used by Western Electric as early as 1956, Tung-Sol promoted it as a major advancement in 1958. Tung-Sol used this construction technique from 1958 onward as shown by the 1958 ad above. |
