POWER TRANSISTORS

It appears Tung-Sol was working with Motorola to develop the necessary 12-volt car radio tube compliment and was thus allowed to use the just released Motorola TO-3 "2N-176" Power Transistor design.  As is shown above, Tung-Sol coincidentally called their new device the "TS-176" and listed it for a couple more years in their inventory. It too was a Baby-Blue.   By 1957, Tung-Sol released two more TO-3 Power Transistor types, these made for switching circuits and called the "TS612" and "TS613".  Another TO-3 device, the "TS614" followed in early 1957.  These were all rated at 15 watts of dissipation.
