Shown at left is additional text from the Nov 1954 Transitron ad in Electronics mentioned earlier. Here you see a detailed and readable explanation of the benefits of the Transitron gold bonded diode technology. This product was very successful for Transitron and millions of devices were sold throughout the 1950s, 60s and 70s. Above is an example of a 1960s Transitron gold bonded diode, type S775G-1, designed for computer use. These particular units are from a large production lot originally destined for the U.S. military.

Shown above is the complete product lineup for Transitron in 1954. The germanium diode product line (gold bonded) was the largest by far. The transistors were germanium and accounted for a very small sales volume.
