Within two years of
joining GE, Bill had assumed responsibility for applications engineering for
the complete rectifier product line.
In Dec 1956, Bill published a comprehensive technical summary of GE
rectifiers, “Rating and Application of Germanium and Silicon Rectifiers” [2]. This was reprinted as an “Apps Note” in
1957, with additional photos, as shown on this page. Note the technique for developing high
power rectifier circuit configurations by mounting multiple units on finned
heatsinks.
